Attended Saturday seminars covering kidney anatomy and physiology, disease pathology, prevention, nutrition, dialysis and transplantation, health disparities, and healthcare career pathways.
Completed research paper literature reviews — analyzing nephrology literature and building scientific literacy through structured critique and synthesis.
Capstone final project: mental health in kidney disease — examining the intersection of behavioral health and nephrology care, presented with a peer group.
Worked with a dedicated UCLA undergraduate mentor (Bruin Beans) and joined workshops on research analysis, resume development, and interview preparation.
Gained early exposure to nephrology, public health advocacy, and UCLA Health's Clinical Excellence, Outreach, Research, and Education (CORE) mission.
